Oscar and his mom had just moved to Chicago and their suitcases had been stolen. A little girl distracted them while somebody else stole their luggage. Oscar followed the girl to a small house. On the way he saw a small glow. Suddenly orange sparks started falling and the house started on fire. The girl had gone in the house and now it was on fire. Oscar rushed in, heard their voices and found the room they were in but the door was jammed. He broke the door and they ran to get out but just as Oscar was about to make it, boards fell and trapped Oscar in the burning house. Read the book to find out if Oscar survives.
